Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. After her time in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. O'Dell in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She also co-hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
