Heidi Klum, born on the 1st of June 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach Germany. Erna the mother of Heidi was a stylist. Gunther Klum was a director of a cosmetics company. Heidi's father had earlier been an executive in charge of production for the perfume firm 4711. Her home was in her birthplace in Bergisch Gladbach a city of about 100,000 residents only six miles to the east of Cologne. She is a former German-American fashion model who now is a television host, producer and fashion designer. Her friend (Karin) encouraged the then 18-year-old student to enter a German television talent show called Model 92. It was part a Thomas Gottschalk hosted late night talk program. Klum faced 25,000 contestants in Germany as well as Europe before she became one of the three semifinalists. In April of 1992, Klum won a top prize of $300,000.
